Portraits

Gabrielle by Londen Wheeler

Gabrielle and I have been trying to do a shoot for a while now.  The day finally came yesterday after both of us had some free time after work.  We hit one of the trails in Dallas for a quick shoot and I must say that I am very pleased with how the images turned out.

Also, if anybody wants to send some fall weather to Texas, let me know!  It's still in the 90s out here during the day!  Keep your eyes open on shoots coming in the next month or so.  Looking to have some fun things to photograph and great people to work with.

Homecoming 2017 by Londen Wheeler

It's that time of year again!  Seeing this high schoolers definitely takes me back to my glorious high school days.  I will say that our Homecomings back in Virginia were nothing like they are out here in Texas!  Back in the day we used to have the Homecoming dance after the football game and everybody got there all stinky and "smelling like outside."

This shoot was one to remember though.  I was super excited when my friend Kelsey hit me up to see if I could photograph her sister and friends for homecoming.  I accepted with no questions asked and when you have a group of high schoolers that dress to kill, these are the results!  Thanks for allowing me to photograph your special day, guys!  I hope you had a fun and safe night of dancing!

@DeadlyDoodles Instameet by Londen Wheeler

Almost every weekend since February, I have spent time with creatives out in Dallas and I love it.  It's the greatest stress reliever for me after a week of craziness at work.  Now, I'm chilling with Trang, editing photos and watching "Abstract" on Netflix.  It's the ultimate chill day for me.

The Instameet today hosted by a creative named Drake (@deadlydoodles).  Drake was super chill and greeted every person that came to the meet.  Something that I haven't seen from organizers at other Instameet so kudos, Drake for making it a welcoming environment for everyone who showed up.

So, yeah, I didn't shoot much today but I was definitely hype to see a Mercedes-Benz G Wagon hit the scene as a prop!  I hope that you all enjoy the shots that I took around the big daddy Benz!

Amani by Londen Wheeler

Man, I've been on a roll with blog posts for this month!  It's been a great month thus far and I'm hoping that it'll continue throughout the rest of the year!

Anyway, I'd love to fill you guys in on this fun shoot!  Ceejay, a coworker of mine and I were randomly talking while on break a couple weeks ago and he mentioned wanting to get some photos done with his daughter.  I told Ceejay that I'm a photographer and that if he had some free time, I'd love to hook him up with some photos!  So we did some coordinating and ended up doing a shoot on Easter Sunday!  His daughter, Amani was so fun to be around!  Her personality was shining brighter than a million suns!  I must pat myself on the back this time because I think I captured her personality perfectly!  Not only was she fun to work with but she didn't cry a single time!  Things really got going when we would walk to our next spot and she would hear a song come on and it's like the music gave her another burst of baby energy.  It was crazy and I'm super jealous that I no longer have the ability to get hype from any music for a photoshoot!

Can't wait to do work with them again!

Afternoon Golf by Londen Wheeler

Today was first time in 15 years that I have been to a golf course and it was pretty nostalgic getting to spend that time with my dad.  The only difference is that this time I was actually allowed to drive the golf cart.  Imagine that.  About 15 years ago were living in Fluvanna County, Virginia and we went to the golf course at Lake Monticello..... Like what?  Thinking about that being so long ago just confirms that I'm getting old, y'all.  I remember Dad giving me a club to let me take a swing and it was by far the most epic fail you could ever have.  The first time I ever swung a golf club would result in me smacking the ball into a pond.  Ahhh, the good ol' days.  Now, I'm grown up, working full time and showing up to the golf course with jeans on and some Vans after an exhausting day of work.

I didn't play any golf this go round but I did take some photos of my Dad, Pastor Perry and this random golfer named Jet who ended up tagging along with us to play a few holes.  Jet was a pretty cool guy and shared laughs with us like he has known us for years.

I have to say, this was one of the most relaxing and fun afternoons that I've in a while so I'm very thankful for that!

I also wanted to pitch my personal twitter page, @dragonflyjnes because I am doing a short photo series of my life here in Texas and the things that I'm doing to help transition into the Texas lifestyle.  So if you would like to see a weekly update of photos, head over to my page and check out the photos!  Just click the tweet above and it will take you to the thread.

Keep it real, everyone!  Until next time!
